and ended up at the wrong Nakano station, which sucked, because we ended up walking like 4
miles to get to where we wanted to be, and Linda must have sprained her ankle at some point
because her ankle got swollen and she was hurting pretty bad, but she toughed it out and we
made it to Nakano Broadway. AKA, Nerd Heaven.
Linda in front of Volks Studio Alta Shinjuku first, and then on to Nakano.
An very small example of the extreme variety found in Japan...of everything.
Otaku.
OK, here is an example of a pair of $120 pants that I would have loved to have bought, if only I fit in
them. So cool, so unique. You just don't see shit like this here.
A vintage doll shop.
Phones.
Within Nakano Broadway's maze of shops, I found a store specializing in electro/industrial/new wave music.
Pretty cool. I bought two Ministry live CDs I have never seen before. Crazy.
Ahhhh Mandarake. King of Otaku Hobby stores in Japan. We visited several Mandarakes, all were
cool in different ways and all of them had stuff I wanted to buy. That's not to say I didn't by anything.
I actually did spend a good deal of money, but in hindsight there were about 4 other things I should
have bought. :(
Check this out. A sterling silver Pinhead Ring. Nice.
Unmaneki Nekos. :(
Cool ass sculpture on this building and a perfect example of that Theme Park feel you get while there.
aaakkkk, there is no Volks Nakano. That is Volks Studio Alta Shinjuku where we stopped first.
ReplyDeleteOK, sorry, fixed it. Sorry, hard to keep all these straight.
ReplyDeleteAll those rings are very cool... but you're right, that pinhead ring is the coolest.
