DAY 1: Kyoto

Our first full day in Japan was spent in the city of Kyoto. From the moment we left our hotel I knew we were at the start of a trip of a lifetime. Kyoto, a city full of ancient temples and shrines, is an immaculately clean place. Not a leaf on the ground out of place. Its hard to describe exactly how clean this city is, you just have to experience it for yourself. I've never seen anything like it.

Alot of the following photos are just things I saw and snapped a pic of while walking around. Commentary will be inserted where necissary.

Panorama of a large canal.

Blowfish.

This happens to be one of my favorite photos of the trip. The dog is just so silly looking. This pic was taken while we ate lunch outside a convenience store. Yes, more on that later.

Tom, Kris and Linda.

Large, like 6+ inches.

Nice looking home.

Bunraku.

Cool looking punk club.

Interesting how this little tree was almost completely bound in wrapping. I can only guess this influences the shape of the tree, much like bonsai.

This is probably my favorite and best photo of Kyoto, and describes it well. Perfectly manicured and exquisitely beautiful gardens everywhere.  Just amazing.
