Linda and I branched off to Jogasaki Coast one day to see something different. We had never really gone to the coast of Japan, so we decided we should see it this time. About two hours outside of Tokyo you can get to this place on the Izu Peninsula.
To get to Jogasaki, you have to take a serious of trains. This can be a challenging task once you leave the English friendly confines of Tokyo. But that is what makes it a fun adventure.
A view out the train window.
Very interesting countryside.
Lots of trees.
Happy fishing!
Massive leaf.
Once you arrive in Jogasaki, you follow a pathway through a sleepy and dead quiet coastal neighborhood. Apparently, it was "off-season" for this area and it was virtually deserted, which was interesting.
Be careful to them.
It seemed like people lived here, but we seldom saw cars and saw only one person outside their house cleaning up some leaves.
Japanese houses are really neat.
I hope you like walking!
Bullet trains are teh cool.
More neat architecture.
Dried squids.
These look cool, but they do not look like something I want to chew on.
Fish jerky to go along with your squid jerky.
Happy squid.
Cool.
Stairs.
More stairs.
We made it!
Through the houses.
Very neat little places.
I would imagine it is expensive to live here.
This one was a favorite of mine. I really like concrete structures.
Raven.
Someone lost their Piglet.
No trip to rural Japan is complete without lots of Japanese Giant Orb Weavers.
Sato-chan!
Rusted stainless.
Finally, the Pacific!
Pretty.
It's cool to look out over the Pacific from the other side!
Fishermen dotted the rocky coastline.
As you can see, there was almost no one here. It was a bit chilly, but it wasn't "cold".
