Maui 2017 - Part 4 (Snorkeling)

This could have been lumped in with Part 3, but I feel it deserves it's own post. I shot the underwater pics and videos with my waterproof Pentax Optio, which kinda sucks. I should probably invest in a GoPro at some point.

Me making my way through the rocks.
There was a variety of colorful fish to see, right off shore.
But fish was not my goal.
Right off the beach I put my hand into the sand, and then the sand moved. It's tough to see in this crappy photo, but there is a cool little flatfish there.
Some sort of pipe-fish.
More pretty reef fish.
And just when I thought I wasn't going to see what I REALLY wanted to see...
!!!!!!!!!!
This was the first one I spotted. It was smallish (about 25-30"s only) but at this point I was thrilled.
I followed the turtle for a while.
They literally fly gracefully through the water.
I then headed for these rocks, and this is where the real treat awaited.
Here's a shot from outside the water.  If you look close, you can see one just to the left of center.
SOOOO MANY HUGE GREEN SEA TURTLES.
These guys were all over the rocks as the waves crashed ashore. They were swimming and eating the red algae off the rocks. It was tough to fight the current and get decent shots and video.

These turtles are massive. Their heads are nearly as big as mine.

This one got washed up onto a rock. Made for a cool vid.

Texture.
