The 4th week of April was a tough one. Rest in peace, little Meana. You are already missed. After Wednesday, we needed to get away, and so for Linda's birthday we drove over the hill
again to San Francisco where our friends Tom and Kris were waiting for us. They flew in earlier
from Chicago. Tom's birthday is the day before Linda's so we all got together to celebrate the
quickness of time. Friday morning we went over to Berkeley for some shopping and food at my
favorite little gormet shop.
So tonight I set out to find the source of the ribbit I have been hearing from the lake next to our
new development. I pulled on the rubber boots, strapped my headlamp on, grabbed my dip
net and set out. This is what I found.
...I painted 22 pieces of 15 foot 5.25" trim and 11 pieces of regular trim at 12 feet each.
Very boring, as you can see:
...but the 3 day job of prepping the floors is complete. Removing vinyl flooring is
worse than tile and mortar....almost. My pinky finger on my right hand is still numb
from the jack-hammer like vibrations of the floor scraper. I must have smashed a
nerve in my finger pretty good for it to still be numb after 24 hours. The vinyl is like
removing a whole floor of sticker paper that is 10 times as thick as what you can
think of. Without the tool it would have been next to impossible...
So, in the last 5 days we have:
1) Removed all the carpet and carpet pad, including all the freakin' glue >:(
2) Removed all the carpet tack strips
3) Removed all the trim
4) Removed all the tile and mortar (not easy, not fun)

Got the keys!!!
