A much needed weekend away...

The 4th week of April was a tough one.  Rest in peace, little Meana. You are already missed. After Wednesday, we needed to get away, and so for Linda's birthday we drove over the hill
again to San Francisco where our friends Tom and Kris were waiting for us.  They flew in earlier
from Chicago.  Tom's birthday is the day before Linda's so we all got together to celebrate the
quickness of time.  Friday morning we went over to Berkeley for some shopping and food at my
favorite little gormet shop.

Tom: age 35.  Notice how happy he looks to be another year older.

After chillin in Berkeley for the morning, we drove northwest to Muir Woods.  We hiked for a bit there and took
lots of photos of the amazing scenery.  These "Miner's Lettuce" plants were my favorite.

I found a few sallies, which was cool.  Here is Tom holding his first Ensatina.  It didn't taste very good so he
spit it out a few minutes later.

This slug was huge.  And slimy.  Tom did not taste it.

Another enormous invert.

Linda casting a conjure spell...she was trying to summon a wood golem but failed.  Her mana was drained
from all the walking.  Kris was dissappointed at her lack of magic experience.

After Muir Woods we went to Muir Beach.  Rocks are fun.

Linda and her familiar, CeCe Marie Jones Whiskerwarts Esquire the 3rd.

The Pacific.

After that we went back to the hotel and got ready to go out again.  Blow Fish Sushi was on deck for Tom's
celebratory dinner.

After sushi we went to DNA Lounge for the goth/industrial night.  On the way, Tom decided to urinate on a
pilates studio.

Its been several years since Linda and I have gone to a club night.  It was funny.  Going to a goth/industrial
night is the closest thing to time standing still that I have every experienced.  The music is still the same and
the styles have changed very little, if at all.  Still we had fun and the music was decent.

Alcohol is a funny thing when you haven't had as much as everyone else.
