Cancun

Having been to Puerta Vallarta twice now, it was nice to take a trip to another part of Mexico we have not visited yet.  I had fairly low expectations because I had always heard the Carribbean side of Mexico is not as nice as the Pacific side.  Which, all in all, is true depending on your perspective. In reality, Cancun just seemed a lot more touristy, while Puerta Vallarta felt like a more authentic taste of Mexico.   Either way, we had fun and saw some amazing stuff.
Snorkeling up shot.

One thing about the Yucatán Peninsula is that it quite warm and humid on this side, however the beaches here are the nicest, most inviting playas I have ever been on.
As you know, I am NOT a beach person, but I gotta say, the sand here was like powder and the water was so nice and warm I spent more time in the ocean than I did in the resort pools.  Here we are soaking up some Vitamin D.
Another cool thing about the Yucatán are all the ancient Mayan ruins.
We only had enough time to visit one spot, and the closest was Tulum.
It's pretty fascinating stuff.
Tulum was about 2 hours away from the hotel, which was unexpected and made for a slightly miserable morning considering how hung over we both were.
Despite feeling woozy most of the day, it was cool to see the remains of this ancient civilization.
Amazing how it exists right on the coastline.
.
After Tulum, the tour took us to a hidden beach where you could snorkel with sea turtles.
This was definitely a highlight for me.
I could have stayed in the water all day with these guys.
We do love Mexico!
