Summer Camping Trip. Post 1

Tom came out for a few days of camping in the desert.  It was July, and it was HOT.  We need to stop camping in the worst heat of the year.  Still, it was cool and we found some cool spots.

Wide open country north of Winnemucca.
Along the road, there was this abandoned building.
Spots like this are cool.
Don't fuck up.
Troop dog.
Popsicle...may you rest in peace.
Once we got off road, we found some trails that took you to some old mining encampments.
There's so much of this in Nevada.
We decided to stay at this spot and shoot a little.
Vintage Ingersoll-Rand compressor.
Boot.
Bubonus.
Dilapidated and infested.
The Trooper did well, on it's maiden offroad adventure.
Typical trail.
Shooting spot.
This is the trail we drove on for some time.
We drove up towards Knott Creek Reservoir.
This is what the terrain looked like.
Lots of lakes full of fish.
Some of them bigger.
Some of them mere puddles.
Still, an awesome spot to camp and fish.
Good hiking too.
There were trout in this lake for sure.
This 12 incher was just chillin by the shore, not sure why.

Our campsite is down below.

Another view.
And then we hit the trail again.
Most of the roads were pretty easy going.
More pics in Post 2 coming up.
