Day 3 - Akame 48 Waterfalls & Japan Salamander Center

Akame 48 Waterfalls is a good train ride out from Osaka, and very worthwhile. The area boasts extreme natural beauty and as a bonus, includes Japan's Salamander HQ.

A view from a hill on our way up the street to 48 Waterfalls.
An extremely old Bonsai tree.
Awesome fall colors.
Approaching the Salamander Center.
Japanese Giant Salamander skeleton.
Tom with preserved specimens.

Japanese Giant on display.

Cute Axolotl.
Juvie Giant Salamander.
After you pass through the Salamander Center, you enter the 48 Waterfalls hiking path that winds through the mountains and canyons along the creek.
There was lots of this.
As we walked back we stopped for some road beers. This was an excellent local microbrew.
Waiting for the train back.
Asahi again.
Drinking on the train is always enjoyable.
Dinner somewhere...
