Fun Fishing Weekend

So we did some serious angling this weekend,  Things started out good along the
Truckee, but we had some rain and then the river got really muddy and basically the
fish stopped biting all together, so yesterday, we hit the carp hole to see what was biting.
The results were good.

I hooked up first with a moderately sized MagiKarp. Sweet.

To my surprise I caught a nice little Bullhead Catfish.  I knew they were in there, but this was
the first one we caught.  Awesome!  Variety is good!

AND THEN, after lots of luckless fishing, my dad landed a cement mixer of a carp, this fish was a
monster! Easily the biggest one we have caught in this spot. 








And then I caught another little guy.


A storm was brewing in the Sierras that manifested into the most violent T-storm I have
seen in Reno since we moved here.  Kept us up for a good hour and half last night
as it raged on.

I would also like to express my ongoing and extreme disappointment/disgust with the human race as
a whole.  While we were fishing, we witnessed some asshole redneck kids chasing the wild horses
in their pick-up while yelling obscenities like "fuck you horse, get the fuck outta the way" and
"stupid fuckin horses" etc etc.  WTF?  Why? 

And, the carp hole is at the end of a dead end street, and for some reason, the area is a favorite place
for disgraceful humans to dump stuff.  Mostly, it’s your typical house garbage, sad, but whatever.  This
time, right next to the water, some complete looser dumped a 15 gallon bin full of used motor oil.  Yes,
motor oil, which can be PROPERLY disposed of at ANY auto parts store in town for FREE.  But some
asshole decided it would be easier to just dump the oil off by the canal.  So, instead of just cussing
and thinking about how shitty people are, I actually did something about it and took the tub home to
dispose of properly.  I'm REALLY glad I did, because last night's storm would have certainly caused the
container to overflow and the 8 or so gallons of used oil would have most certainly spilled over and on
the bank of the canal.   Which would have made an enormous mess and really pissed me off and really
fucked up my fishing hole.  I'm still pissed, because a few empty beer bottles and house trash is bad
enough, but MOTOR OIL is just plain reckless and stupid.  Now I have this disgusting grease tub
of oil in MY garage that I need to dispose of because some fuckhead was too careless and lazy to
dispose of it himself.

I know we are all bad, and all part of the problem, but some people just seem to be
bent on making it THAT MUCH WORSE. FUCK PEOPLE.I still had a good weekend though.
