Sony Cybershot W350 Panoramas

So in preparation for our upcoming trip to Nippon, I purchased a new point and
shoot.  I wanted something extra small and discreet, so we can shoot inside
stores and restaurants and not look like a giant stupid gaijin with a huge
Nikon rig all the time.  I also didn't want to spend a fortune on one either so I
settled on the Sony Cybershot W350.  It comes with this gimicky feature called
Panorama Shot.  Basically, you just move the camera in a horizontal flow and
it captures everything in a half circle.  While it is a gimick, it is actually kinda
cool.

I took it with last night to our local ghetto grocery store, and got some interesting
pics.

I reduced the images down to 900 pixels wide, so you shouldn't hafta scroll.  The 1:1 resolution isn't
that great anyhow, which imo keeps this feature in the "gimick" catagory, but still, it is cool.

The grocery store was a perfect place to experiment with the Panorama Shot as
we have lots of repitition, color and lines to play with.

That's Linda on the left picking out some frozen veggies.

Frozen shit food.

The back yard.

Today I brought the camera to work.  Me in the Men's Room.

I figured the warehouse here would make for some cool shots with the Panorama feature
as well.  Like the grocery store, lots of repitition and sweeping lines.  The warehouse
is huge, as you can see.

Mobile cart hell.

This is probably my favorite shot from the warehouse.  The big green propane powered
forklift is pleasing to look at for some reason.

The Large Cut Floor.

This is a 'regular' (non-panorama shot) of one of the iles.  This little camera takes a pretty
wide shot, which is kinda cool.

And here is a vertical panorama of the same spot.

Here is a shot from up high above one of the offices.

Big Dave Nelson and old Nancy Mattice in the bg.

Matt fixing the stripe and dye machine.

Regualr shot of good ol' boy Matt.  The camera works nicely because he had no idea I
was taking a picture of him.  Its small and quiet.

That's it.

  1. wow, you were bored!

I think working inside a chain link cage everyday would make me crazy in a year or so. Does that guy pace back and forth sometimes?

  3. Kevin is the guy who has a pace maker and still smokes like a chimney. When he laughs, he sounds like the Joker. Seriously. He's nuts. I don't think he cares. He only works in the "Cage" until Mike gets here. Mike has told me he doesn not like working in there at all. I think it's funny, because it is called "The Cage".
