How To Make Okonomiyaki

After our trip to LA where we gorged on Japanese food (especially Okonomiyaki) we decided
to try to make it at home.  So we went to our local Asian supermarket (which isn't the best, but
it isn't all that bad either) to get some of the essential ingredients.

1) The Stuff

2) Mixing the batter

3) Maneki Neko watching

4) Add the ingredients to the batter

5) Put a little oil in the no-stick pan and start making Okonomiyaki!

6) Flip it

7) Flip it again

8) When done enough, place on plate, cover with Japanese BBQ sauce and Japanese Mayo

EAT!

  1. It was pretty good. The BBQ sauce we got is not as good as the stuff you can get at the actual restaurants. Next time we go to San Fran we will stock up on some better ingredients. But for all practical purposes, it was good.

  3. Yeah, there was no meat in this version we made so you could eat it. You guys have Uwajimiya up there, right? You could get the needed stuff there I'm sure.
