ended up going off the main road and up to one of the most beautiful spots
I have ever been in Nevada.
We parked, ate lunch and then started hiking. Here we are taking it all in.
Look carefully and you will see the trucks below.
Another silly group shot.

After we got done hiking we drove down to the lake so I could see if there were any trout
in it. Considering that there was no direct trail down to the lake, I should have known. We tried
several different trails including one that started us driving through a load of overgrowth that
was only the beginning of the trail rash the trucks would acquire during this trip.
Here I am trying in vain to catch a fish. (Photo by JASHawk13)
This massive field is what we had to hike through to reach the lake. After the first hike up the mountain
and then this one, we were pretty much spent. (Photo by
No fish, but there were plenty of Wandering Garter Snakes around the lake. (Photo by
After that fun but extremely tiring ordeal we headed south in search of a suitable camping spot.
Somewhere along the way we ran into a heard of sheep. You know what they say about sheep. :)
A litte further down the road we came upon a very strange abandoned building in the middle of nowhere.
Nearest we can figure is that it was a brothel for a nearby mining encampment. Probably dates back to
the late 1960s/early 1970s.

Slowly but surely we made our way through back country. Not a second went by where I felt bored with
the scenery.
Around five o'clock we found a nice spot next to a creek where we setup camp for the night.
Omg what a breathtaking landscape!
