Frogs and Rants

Even though the weather has cooled off, there are still a lot of frogs hopping around.

And now, on to some rants:

1) What is the deal with LJ Cut? Is this an intentional change or a bug? Whatever happened to it really sucks and makes me want to stop using LJ more than ever. I tried to find some "news" or something about why this change was made and how it should work, but I can't find anything. All I know is that it's terrible.

2) I hate bad email etiquette from people who do not know me personally. If you are a friend or family member and you send me an email that says, "what are we having for dinner?" and that's it, fine. But for the people who I have never exchanged any correspondence with, who just send out poorly thought out, hasty emails asking for something, you need to be slapped. If you are going to email someone you have never talked to before, try starting the email out with "Hello" or "Hi" or "Greetings" or something like that. And don't forget some sort of closing, like "Thanks" or "Thank you", or at least your NAME. Further more, try using the "SHIFT" key once in a while and try to put periods at the end of your sentences. It not only helps me understand what you want, it makes me think you have at least one brain cell working. Otherwise, you just appear to be an uneducated buffoon who I should not even reply to in the first place. Youth is no excuse either. I have gotten some very eloquently composed emails from grade school students, so I don't buy it. If you are 12 years old, try using some of those things your English teacher taught you. And if you are an adult, try using some of those things your English teacher taught you (when you were 12). It makes me sick that I can get emails from some Chinese guy who writes and spells better than the average American who doesn't even take the time to TRY and translate their random, hair-brained thought into a cohesive email. And don't get me started on spelling. I admit, I suck at spelling. Most people do, but you are not using a quill and a piece of parchment, are you? You are using a computer. I don't think there are many computers out there that do not have some form of spell check. USE IT. Bottom line: Email is not Instant Messaging. Email is not text messaging on your phone. Email is like writing a letter. It's something that can last forever, can be reproduced easily, and should be carefully thought out before the SEND button is pressed.
