It was a long night. A long night of bottle rockets, thunder bombs, the redneck comedy show on XM radio,
distant gun fire, and a whole lot of unnecessary hooting and hollering....well into the we morning hours. I
will probably not ever go back to this spot. It was THAT bad.
But waking up to a view like this, makes me feel differently, now, back in my cubicle.

That morning we went for a nice hike down to Fordyce Creek.

Seal boy just had to get in the water.

This is what 3 gay guys and a straight couple looks like.

After the hike, Tom and I went off to investigate another lake to see if we should move camp there. None of
us really wanted to endure another night of redneck rampage.
We took another trail that brought us to another peak with some spectacular views of Lake Sterling.

So we went back down to the original campsite and packed up everything. We had to wait for Jim and Ryan
to get back from their boat ride...

The new campsite was MUCH nicer. But the mosquitos were just as bad, if not worse up there. Either way, a
really nice spot. Linda and I took another canoe ride around the lake. We went ashore to check out the look
out points. That is Fordyce Lake below, where we camped next to the unruly white trash the night before.

You can really see the smoke rolling in from a fire west of us in this shot.

When we got back to shore, we found jim fast a sleep and sucking his thumb.

Hijinx.

Unfortunately, Jim woke up before we could get his entire tent surrounded.

Horseplay.

Socks.

More horseplay.

Another nice view.

That evening, we gorged on burgers and dogs and chip and cookies. Then we all retreated to our tents for
a few hours in an attempt to avoid the HANGRY swarm of big, black, hairy mosquitos. The sun started to
set and I had to get outta the tent to snap this shot of the lake.
