MARMOT CROSSING!
We wanted to enjoy the park a little more before we pressed on to Moab. So we decided on a short hike that lead us up the mountain to an alpine lake. The weather was perfect. No bugs, not a single drop of sweat or the slightest shiver of cold.
The next few shots are from the morning hike.
The trail was lined with stones of granite. Look at this one I picked up, almost perfectly diamond shaped.
After about 45 mintues we reached the lake. Breathtaking.
Fuck Jesus and Judism and Jihad.
Mother Nature is God.
A mule deer doe.
On the way up we encountered several patches of deep snow, yet the temperature remained mild at this elevation. (about 10,000 feet)
After the hike we packed up and headed out of Nevada and into freaky ass Utah. We took highway 21 south and stopped at the Frisco Ghost Town.
Another lizard posing for us. This one was not concerned about us at all. I was able to get about 2 feet from him. He just kept an eye on me the whole time.
After the ghost town we pressed on to Moab. We got there about 7pm and checked into our hotel, got dressed and went out to dinner to celebrate our 6 year anniversary.
