Now, I am not so much into the cars represented at the Hot August Nights events, but there were a few nice one's that stood out from the rest. Hot August Nights events only allow cars from the 50s and 60s. I think maybe up to 1970 or something, which to me, is right before when I really started liking cars. So that kind of makes things a little boring for me, since most of the cars are not really all that "cool" to me. I really don't understand why anyone in their right mind would paint a car powder blue, or pink and purple, or lime green. But I guess that's how it was back then??? Anyway, the following photos are of a few things that caught my eye.
One of the cooler looking 'rat rods' at the show.
Tough looking Chevy.
This thing was awesome. I love the black eggshell paintjob.
Another black eggshell paintjob. I love the low sheen stuff.
Yes, another, but wtf is with the rainbow colored seats???
And a perfect example of what I mean. A GORGEOUS Mustang...but it's POWDER BLUE. It just
KILLS all the meanness this car is made of.
I heart old Broncos.
Now, here's a nicely done Firebird.
And another wicked matte black paint job.
And another cool rat mobile...save for the newish looking wheels.
Now, this thing had a terra cotta flat paint job, looked kinda cool, but as usual, would be better in black.
Sweet.
Wicked, but lime green.... :/>
Joe Dirt.
Now this car looks like the Bat Mobile...I like it.
Love the old cars. the bat mobile looking car is sweet looking!!!
ReplyDeletemy brother used to have an old bronco like the green one but it was red. it was nice except it broke down all the time and he sold it for an international scout (which also broke down all the time!!!)
Wish we could have seen some of the old cars while we were down there. maybe next year!!
Yeah, maybe next year I will be done with my car!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the old Broncos, and I actually like the Scouts too.
We went to Walmart and they had the Simply Orange with Mango. It's hella good. :)
Wow amazing cars! They look like each one has their own story!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see you own finished!
