I took a sick day today. Not really sick, just sick and tired. My brother and I went for a hike. It was long and vertical. Very strenuous, but I feel good now.
A coworker and I went canoeing in Washoe and he said something about hiking over there some day. You picture overlooking washoe made me think of it. Looks cool. He said it was a pretty hefty hike. I think his implication was that I couldnt make it, being a fatbody and all.
Yeah, you get there by going into Davis Creek Park. I went there once before with Linda and CeCe but like idiots we didn't have any water with us that day so we didn't make it very far. This time, I brought the Camel Back and 3 litres of extra water. We hiked for about 4.5 hours. What pissed me off is that I wanted to get to Rock Lake but the trail doesn't go there. So I had to navigate with the GPS to find it. This trail is pretty much all vertical going in. It took 3 hours to get up there, and only like 1 hour to get back. I think you could do it. Its tough, but you just have to bring enough water and pace yourself. If you rush you will burn out fast. I'd like to go back in the spring. Rock Lake was pretty dried up. But it made for some cool pics. The water line left on the rocks created a weird optical illusion...
No, he has gym shoes on. I keep tellin him to buy a pair of hiking boots...but. This spot was pretty sweet. Only about 15 minutes to the trail head from the house. No 4x4, but an awesome hiking spot. Someday I want to backpack and camp out under the stars.
Is that Rock Lake?
ReplyDeleteWhere is this?
